Drew Feder co-founded Credential Consultants in 2007 and is a lead designer of Credential ConnectionTM software and the GRADE DatabaseTM, as well as co-author of the GRADE MethodTM. Drew began working in the credentials evaluation industry in 2004 as an evaluator and immediately became involved in management of production and customer service. Since then, Drew served as a Communications Director, General Manager and Evaluator for organizations including the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Drew is a contributing author to the NAFSA Online Guides to Education Systems Around the World and AICE’s qualification requirements and methodology standards published in 2014. He has also presented and spoken about credentialing issues for Education USA, the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), and the American Translators Association (ATA). Drew studied at Johns Hopkins University and Colorado College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in International Political Economy in 2003, and is acting President of Credential Consultants.
Shivshankar Kandavelu ( Shiv ) is responsible for driving the software development and application availability at Credential Consultants. Shiv co-founded Credential Consultants in 2007 with Drew Feder. Shiv comes with extensive software development background working with Fortune 500 companies and Start-ups in different capacities. Previously Shiv worked at Sapient, NetIQ, UBS and Trilogy. Shiv is philanthropic and volunteers his spare time with United Way, MD Anderson and managed the Houston chapter of Asha for Education. Shiv holds a Systems Management Diploma from NIIT, India and Bachelor of Science degree from University of Madras, India.
With an academic background at both the undergraduate and graduate levels emphasizing international relations and comparative politics, Hany Arafat has worked as an evaluator of international credentials since 2005, first with SpanTran Educational Services (NACES member) and, currently, with SDR Educational Consultants (AICE member). He is bilingually fluent in Arabic and English, and has the ability to research in both languages. As a comparative education researcher, Hany has authored a country profile for NAFSA’s “A Guide to Educational Systems Around the World”, contributed to a NAFSA publication highlighting the educational system in Saudi Arabia, given presentations at NAFSA regionals and to representatives of regional institutions of higher education and cultural organizations on the evaluation of foreign credentials, and participated in a number of professional conferences and seminars in the field.
Barbara B. Glave began participating in international education when she graduated in June, 1967, from the Universidad de las Américas, Mexico City with a B.A. in Spanish, with minors in French and Linguistics. In 1980, she co-founded SpanTran Educational Services, Inc. and is a longtime member of the American Translators Association and NAFSA: Association of International Educators. For six years, she served as a member and then chair of the Membership Committee of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services / NACES. Additional professional service includes: (1.) Admissions Section representative for the NAFSA Region III Team; (2.) member of the Committee on Records Fraud and Abuse of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and (3.) author/co-author of seven country profiles for the NAFSA Online Guide to Educational Systems Around the World: Albania, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico and Sudan.
Dr. Linda Riley, Director, co-founded IACE in 1991 in response to demand for foreign credential evaluation services from individuals and local colleges and universities in the Dallas area. Dr. Riley has over 30 years of foreign credential evaluation experience having served as Director of International Admissions at the University of North Texas (UNT), a position from which she retired in 2001. Prior to UNT, Dr. Riley was employed as foreign credential evaluator and admission counselor at University of Nebraska at Omaha. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French from Midland Lutheran College in Nebraska, a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Counselor Education from UNT. Linda has served on the International Education Committee of AACRAO, was Chair of the Projects for International Educational Research (PIER) Committee of AACRAO and NAFSA.
Sandra Dyson Rodríguez enlisted in the United States Peace Corps before teaching English at the Venezuelan Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defense from 1964 to 1972, becoming a Chairperson of the English Department there. Since then, Sandra has taught English as a Second Language and Spanish at the University of Houston and served as Director of International Students at the University of Houston Downtown, co-founded SpanTran Educational Services, and advised international students at Rice University before establishing SDR Educational Consultants in 1999. Sandra has authored country profiles for the AACRAO’s Electronic Database for Global Education and NAFSA’s “A Guide to Educational Systems Around the World.” She has given numerous presentations, including papers at NAFSA, AACRAO, and other conferences and meetings, served as a Trainer in NAFSA’s Professional Development Program, mentored at the NAFSA Academy, and received several Certificate of Recognition Awards, an Outstanding Service in International Education Award, and a Partnership Award from NAFSA.
